Project Update...A Vision for Meadville

A draft vision statement has been developed for the City of Meadville.  The vision statement should satisfy the following three purposes:

  • City Boards, Commissions and staff will use it to provide guidance in determining the priority and degree of evaluation of potential projects.
  • City employees will be guided in the provision of quality municipal services.
  • Most importantly, the Council, its advisory bodies and the community-as-a-whole will proceed with a common understanding of the quality of life values or themes that will shape our community for years to come.

Comprehensive Plan Process

The city of Meadville is undergoing a Comprehensive Plan update (the previous Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 1993). The City has hired Mackin Engineering Company to facilitate the process, which began in October of 2011. The entire project is anticipated to be completed by October of 2012.

A comprehensive plan outlines the community’s vision for future growth and development. The plan will outline existing conditions in the City, identify priority issues to be addressed and then develop realistic
strategies to address the issues.
